I see so many clients suffering from anxiety, stress and depression. They are often interwoven and can sometimes be misdiagnosed.
Anxiety can make us feel a sense of dread, feeling on edge with thoughts racing in our mind about things that haven’t even happened yet. This is our brain’s way of telling us that we just don’t feel ‘safe’.
It is a perfectly normal reaction to danger but when we experience anxiety, then that part of our brain is working too well! It can manifest itself physically in our bodies and can prevent us from wanting to engage with the world around us.
Depression is not just sadness and is still quite misunderstood in our society. Depression can leave us with a sense of worthlessness, indecisiveness and an inability to carry out everyday tasks. Depression can stem from many life events; distressing circumstances, bereavement, physical illness.
